it didn't matter HOW he died, just that he gave his life willingly.

No one could take Jesus' life without his permission.

Only he had the power to lay down his life and take it up again.

Many theologians hold that Herod's slaughter of the innocents was initiated by Satan, through Herod, and that the forces of evil continued a "search and destroy" mission against Jesus throughout all of his earthly existence.

That may be the reason Jesus spent much of his life "laying low" in Nazareth, a hick town that was a backwater of the earth even then, and a town that did not in any way figure in prophecy.

That being said, Jesus permitted Satan and the forces of evil to put him to death on the cross solely to destroy Satan's power over mankind, so that sins could be forgiven.

Scripture tells us that God's plan was completed in full through the life and death of Christ.

There were no other failed attempts.

No our sins would not have been saved because if a mere mortal could have killed Jesus than He would not have been divine. Jesus was on a mission to give himself up for us. The only reason He died when He did is because He GAVE up His spirit. Any attempt on his life would have been futile. In fact, the bible suggests one such attack was imenent when Jesus was preaching in a large crowd and He disappeared rather than let them take Him before the time was right.

i do no longer think in hell. those people who died until now Jesus replaced into resurrected would be resurrected to the paradise earth. God did no longer provide up on that plan. God will fix the earth to the paradise he meant for it to be after Armageddon cleanses it of all of the evil. Matthew 5:5. Rev 21:a million-5. basically a small selection would be resurrected to heaven. they are in a position to have the activity of ruling the earthly inhabitants in this paradise. Jesus often is the King of the Heavenly Kingdom and the one hundred forty four,000 that are chosen from the earth would be friends. Rev 7:a million.

A number of places in the gospels mention that attempts were made to kill Jesus, but it did not happen because it was not His time.
Jesus allowed Himself to die, but it did not happen until the time of His choosing.

If Jesus could raise Himself from the dead, then do you not think that He could also preserve His life until the perfect time of His sacrifice on the cross?

He IS God, after all.
