A satisfactory answer?. Yes.
The REAL question is this? Will you accept the TRUTH when you hear it?
1. God allowed it to happen
2. God caused it to happen
3. God couldn't prevent it from happening, or
4. God doesn't care
Answer:
1. Why would God not allow it too happen? God, allowed His own Son to be killed for a reason.
2. Explain to me...please...How God in any way "caused" this.
3. God, doesn't care? God, didn't care about His own Son getting killed for YOU?
I'm sorry my friend, if your looking for a reason too hate God, simply look somewhere else. You won't find it from me.
You don't want TRUTH.
You want to justify hate for God.
You don't need my help, you appear to be doing quite well on your own.
.
1 of 2 things. Either you want truth...or you want justification to hate. You and other people can "Thumb Down" me till the world looks purple. I could care less.
When the day comes, YOU want TRUTH, I'll give to you in bold print, when YOU are ready to hear it.
Good Luck.

That wasn't God that did that. People commit every kind of unspeakable act you can think of. Hurts a little when it happens a little closer to home, don't it? How do you think it makes God feel? He loves everyone, and wishes that none should perish! That is exactly why He sent His only begotten Son to die for the sins of the world! What about Andrea Yates? She methodically drowned her children. One after the other. And HER conviction was just overturned! Did you react in like manner to that? I can understand your disdain, but don't put it on God! He already knew that was going to happen. That child's days were numbered from before the time the child was even born. That child is back with God! Now what's left here is for that man to pay for his crime here on this earth, and if he doesn't repent and live for God from now through the end of his days, he will pay for it again upon judgement. Be angry at the man, not at God.

How sad indeed. Lots of terrible things happen every minute of every day. This world is full of sorrow and pain. The good news is that someday we will leave this world and if Jesus Christ is our Savior, we will spend eternity in a place where there is no more murder, pain or greif!
But for now, your question has been asked by many many others. A sinful world is a painful world and yes, God allowed man kind to have his way and that is hard to accept and difficult to understand indeed. Why did it happen, I don't know but I can assure you God didn't cause it but obviously He did allow it.

Choose a senerio:
1) You don't believe the god you once believed existed and he let the child be killed because he just wanted to make you mad.
2) The god you believe in exists and he killed the child so that you could live a better life and understand that you should live to the fullest.
3) The god you believe in exists but believes in free will and therefore had to let the child's father kill the child so as to not interfere with the free will, he has to accept what he created even if it means that lots of people will die (lets add a 'and all victims go to heaven and have fun and barely miss life' bit here)
or
4) There are too many people on Earth for your god to be saving everyone who can't defend themelves. Therefore he saves no one so as to be fair.

God does not do these things the guy did. yes it a shame it had to happen but the whole world is in the hand of the devil and this means that we are free to act as we want.
Only whe nthe devil is removed will such injustices not be a part of human society. God allowed Cain to murder his brother, he did not intervene even though he warned him that he should stop storing up his feelings of jealousy. God obviously knew what might happen although he did not intervene.

It was not God that created this situation he has allowed us to make our own choices. That man that murdered his son made his choice it is sad that the child was caught in this crime of rage against the mother.
There is a reason for everything yes.... but to pull through we have to hold faith that God will work everything through for a better day for this mother and all who loved this child.
I know this may not be a satisfactory answer for you but it is the truth that we all need to hold on to in times of the loss of a loved one. There is a bigger plan God will never forsake those who love him.

This is earth, not heaven. Such a thing would not happen in heaven, but we souls are on earth to experience what earth has to offer, possibly to learn from it. This is not to say that God doesn't love us, and is not sorrowing when these things happen (for I truly believe that God is). But if heaven is perfect union with God, and in order to experience something else one has to forgo that perfect union for a time, it stands to reason that imperfection must be introduced. Well, we all know that one dropped stitch can unravel a whole garment. Perhaps that is the nature of our earth. We can console ourselves that all things on earth are temporary, and that our eternal life awaits in perfect union with God, where murdered children, and grieving parents, are all comforted with perfect love and understanding, much as a wise parent comforts a child waking from a bad dream.
It is not wrong to cry for the pain of a lost child, or the pain of a grief stricken mother, or of a father consumed by the fire of anger. Perhaps, when we are unable to prevent such tragedies, our sorrow is our role.

God allowed it to happen. There were two choices:
(1) allow it to happen
(2) redefine human beings
Human beings were created with free will, and with FULL responsibility for the choices of free will they make. God had nothing to do with this tragic event. It was totally against His divine will. But that's just the point. Giving men free will means allowing them to place their own will above God's will. If God had said "I give you the power to choose between good and evil, but whenever you choose evil I'll jump in and make sure nobody gets hurt", then what would be the point of free will? And what would be the point in choosing good, if choosing evil couldn't do any harm? Direct your anger toward the one fully responsible for this terrible crime - the man who freely decided to commit it - not toward a just and loving God.

6. It wasn't God's plan - the father was an insane monster who went against humanity by taking a life so young away. Don't go blaming God, or whoever you believe in, for the mistakes and horrors of our fellow man. This is what can result from free will.

God presently allows wickedness.\
Those victimized by it will be awarded.
Soon, all wickedness will wither like the grass and suffering will be no more.
Rev 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
Psa 37:1 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psa 37:2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
