These probably are what is commonly referred to as cafe au lait spots. You need to have these evaluated by a dermatologist. They may be benign but can sometimes be associated with serious conditions. Sometimes they may be caused by certain medications. Sometimes these spots develop during pregnancy. Stop scrubbing them as you may be irritating the skin and potentially making a worse problem. Make an appointment with a skin doctor and get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

This is very common if there is a hormonal imbalance. It is usually associated with PCOS, which is polycystic ovary syndrome. A web search of this condition will give you a lot more info. I recommend that you see a Dr. as there are several treatment options...it's NOT dirt, if it's PCOS. Good Luck!

Best thing you can do if its worrying you is go talk to your doc about it, there are a few things they can prescribe to you, low dose antibiotics for 1, and they can urge you to go onto the contraceptic pill as well as this levels out the hormones in women. If none of those work then talk to him about going on roaccutane. If you are looking for creams and face washes, then make sure they have benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in them as these have been found to help with acne.
