I am 5'9'' and about 160. I am a college synchronized swimmer and train 6 days a week with 2 practice one of those days. I am very muscular, especially in my legs, which are huge. I got a little bit of a gut that sticks out. I feel like I am huge and fat. But everything says i am normal. But am i normal by society and guys standards. I also have a wide frame to go with all my muscles.

Many swimmers that I have trained have larger frames and also have a mentality that they are "fat." Based on your activity level the only thing that you need to address is if you are eating a proper diet. While many people workout, most (as in like everyone) has an improper diet. We read the guidlines based upon the RDA's on the side of our food, but you have to look at the nutrients, and supstance you need to put in you individual goal to fit your bodies needs. Don't take petty advice either. If you are a college athelete you should have acces to someone who is certified in diet and nutrition. Seek them out and learn all you can. At your age what you learn now will only help you more in life. Good luck, and happy swimming!

does it really matter? as long as you're healthy you should be fine. Oh, and make sure you never go off swimming, i had a friend once who was an athlete and real toned, then she quit, and now she's all fat and flabby. I guess that happens when the muscles arent used anymore.

According to the experts guys are attracted to specific ratios in a womans figure. It's our genetic programming. There are so many body types in human society and different people find different ones attractive.

With 5'9" and 160lbs, yes you are normal. But you could loose 10 to 20 lbs. just to make yourself feel happy, there's nothing wrong of doing so. I'm 5'7" and 170lbs and actually 30 lbs overweight.

I'd have to say that you shouldn't worry too much. You're neither fat nor chubby, just muscular. However, if you're very concerned about your stomach, just try to eat less foods that are rich in fat.

I'm sure you are not fat. You are not overweight, perhaps a little chunky because of your muscle and wide frame, I don't know. We can't see you so it's hard to tell. You sound pretty normal to me. HTH : )

Height wise above average. Looks normal considering proportionality of height and weight.

My legs aren't skinny, but my waist is like a stick. Same problem.
