I don't know much about the new tvs but like the size of this one. It is Sony, 1920 x 1080p (whatever that means). Would appreciate any help you might want to share. I'v been looking for a "slim" flat panel and this is about the largest LCD that I can find. Thank you.

Sony TV's are pretty good, but before you jump up and spend a lot of mony. Take a look at the system and do a little bit of research. Check the model numbers, as a lot of people are jumping on the band wagon with this 1080P sets.
So let me educate you a little, Sony has 3 new models they are (in 46") KDL46S200 (Bravia), KDL46V2500 and KDL46XBR2 (Futureshop has an Exclusive model called the KDL46S2010). There are only 2 models capable of doing 1080P, KDL46V2500 and the KDL46XBR2.
The one that you are talking about is probably the KDL46V2500. That model is a pretty good entry 1080P set. But it depends on the level of quality of that you are looking for, but if you want something better (or I consider as the best) I would go for the Sony XBR (KDL46XBR2). I hope that helps. Well at least it points you in the right direction.

do some research on the type of tv you want first.
Flat LCD units have a lot of bugs, that still have to be worked out, no matter who made them.
some have to be viewed in a dimly lit room to see the picture.

May I suggest waiting a year or so, closely follow consumer report magazine and then choose

Not sure exactly which model you are speaking on,
but here's an example of one from many stores...

Regarless of the specific model, a very nice set!
