He is 13 months old, and really hyper. I live in the surburbs on Northern Minnisota, right near the border of Canada. I take him out and let him run in the woods, but I think he'd like some one to run with or another dog to spend time with. Maybe a little female St. Bernard? (both would be spayed or neutered)

Ya, I've got kinda a big Country house, it used to be my grandpa's so I love it. Those would be my inside/outside dogs. I've got some dogs that just live on my property, a few border collies and shepherds that were here when I moved in. I suppose they are related to dogs my Graandpa owned, but I'm really not sure. I feed them and pet them, but they aren't really ideal house dogs. Anyway, I have alot of room, so that isn't a problem.

I have always had Newfies, and they sure can tell their own breed!!!!!! I think getting one of the same breed is best in many ways!!!!
They both eat about the same, have the same energy level, need the same grooming, and have the same kind of temperment.

If they are both fixed.....GO FOR IT!!

Yes, most dogs love companions. But a Saint Bernard is HUGE!!!!! Could you imagine 2! Although they would stay out of your hair alot more and have fun like kids. If you are confident enough to have 2 Saint Bernards drooling around the house then shoot for the stars!!!!!

One St. Bernard is enough work, but two! I just imagine the movie Beethoven 2 with all the puppies.

But...since you have a lot of room and hopefully you have a lot of money. Those dogs eat so much. I say, go for it!

I'm sure your dog would absolutely love a companion! Just make sure you want her too, you have to feed and look after her! My dogs have always had companions and they've all enjoyed the companionship of their own kind.
