Try watching the making of a scary movie.. they are only actors with tons of makeup and special effects... none of them are real or even close.. also when you start to feel anxiety coming on.. stop.. breath in from you nose and out through your mouth slowly and think of a happy place or the ocean waves coming in on beach.... it really will work...

well, think about what happens before you have an attack. these may be triggers to your attacks. also, if you have not already, see a mental health professional, who may help you find the trigger (which you may or may not be aware of). they will also give you techniques to use to prevent an attack, or what to do if you find yourself getting ready to have one or are having one. no, you probably will not have to stop watching scary movies, though i would stay away from them unti lyou find out what is bothereing you. you may have just had a quickening heart rate that made your body think it was having an attack, which translates to a full on attack. this can happen even if you are having fun...the brain begins to generalize all instances of excitement to anxiety.....i think it's best you find out what initially causes your attacks and deal with them before you end up living your life with no excitement at all.

Becoming a teenager is tough and what you are feeling is normal. However, if I could make two suggestions, 1) find a grown up whom you trust (a female grownup) and tell her how you feel as you go through being a teenager. It's comforting to know that what you are going through other have gone through too and they can give you good advice on how to adjust. 2) If you put an e-mail or allow contacts through Questions and Answers or your 360 about your post, erase them without reading them, by no means answer them.

No you probably won't have to give up your scary movies. I would tell someone what's going on and maybe get on some meds to treat your anxiety attacks.

Yes, stop watching that junk. It will upset anyone, especially if it is graphic violence. You need to focus on positive things; you school work, extra curricular school activities, etc. What you watch, read and listen to can have a major impact on you.
