For example "Que way" or "calmate way"

LOL! I always find it funny when someone who doesn't speak spanish tries to find out what we say or even better, tries to speak it. I don't mean it in a rude way, but more like in a cool/funny way. It made me laugh when I read "Que way" and "calmate way" hahaha.

Anyway, "güey" (which is the correct way to write it) means "dude". It is used especially by young people but anyone can say it, depending on the person. It normally refers to a male, but it can also refer to a female in some cases. Until a few years ago, it was only a slang word, but due to the word being widely used, it was added to the dictionary.

Oh I forgot to say. It can also be used to call someone dumb. You can say "Que güey!" ("How dumb!") to someone who did something stupid. On the other example you wrote, "Calmate way", it just means "Calm down dude!".

No matter what meaning you're giving to the word, it is not insulting. When you're using it to call someone dumb, it is *a little* insulting, but nothing to worry about, I just mean you can't tell it to your boss for example haha, but between friends you can be sure nobody would get mad if you told them that.

It's slang, mostly Mexican. Means "dude". It's spelled "guey". Yes it kind of comes from the word in Spanish "Buey" that means ox. It doesn't make sense. But there are many things about English that don't make sense either.
You use it in a non-formal conversation.
It's not the word you use when you speak with older people, your boss, etc... If you are not Chicano it would sound silly if you use it, too.

it sounds like way (in English) but the correct word in Spanish is buey which means ox and it ended in güey (way).
When you tell someone ..
qué wey eres, it means You're fool, clumsy, slow, etc...

In Mexico, it's very common among young people to use it at the end of any phrase, it doesn't mean anything but something like buddy, man...

if you say to urself or others: qué wey!, it is because u did something stupid, funny, made a mistake...

cálmate wey means like..calm down man, or don't stuck up man...depending the situation.

The word is buey, pronounced "way." It means ox. In Mexican argot, it also means cuckold. It's a vile insult if you say it to somebody who isn't a good friend, but good friends say it to each other all the time, and it doesn't have a bad meaning. If you have a good friend and he calls you buey, it's OK to call him buey. If you use the word without having heard it first, get ready for a fist fight. If you are a white guy who doesn't know much Spanish, the chances are slim that they will ever call you buey. Unless you really are a cuckold, and that would be a bad, bad thing.

(way) is a slang term they use, like, what's up dog, dog being (way). My friend at work says that to me and He explained that is just a term, not good or bad. It doesn't mean dog either, that was just an example.

I've NEVER heard any Spanish-speaking people talk like that. And I do know some Spanish. If you're really curious to know, then why not just ask them? Especially if they are your friends anyway. It would be alot easier than asking us.
