Richard Dawkins argues that highly complex systems can be produced by a series of very small randomly-generated steps, rather than an intelligent designer. He further points out the self-refuting nature of the argument: that if complex things must have been intellegently designed by something more complex than themselves, then anything posited as this complex designer (i.e. God) must also have been designed by something yet more complex, according to the argument.

You will have no answer for this question as God(ALLAH) has not chosen to reveal the answer to the human race.
Having said that I would tell you though that the great design and beauty of this Universe and the creations in it show the artistry and genius of a great great creator, nourisher and sustainer. The universe has laws who created these laws. Its easier for me to believe in a great creator seeing the wonders of His creations and then also finding His presence in His revealed messages and messengers.Like the Holy Bible,HolyTorah and the Holy Quran.A repeated message coming in different times and in different people repeating message.
A monkey when shown an image of itself fails to understand whats in the mirror if you try you can never explain to a monkey whats in the mirror it will keep on trying to find the other monkey behind the mirror. So you see the monkey has a limitation of understanding its wisdom cannot grasp a mirror concept.Similarly Humans cannot grasp certain concepts no matter how hard they try because its a limitation of their minds. One such concept is who created God.We will know when He wants us to know and not before. You just need to have a little faith here.

You don't have to be a Christian to recognize that no-one could have created God, nor did He "just appear". Logically, if everything in our experience has a cause and an origin, and everything that occurs in the universe falls within an ongoing series of causes and effects, then two possibilities exist:
(1) The series of causes and effects that constitutes the universe stretches back into eternity, and therefore never had a cause or an origin, which would mean that the universe itself within which such causes and effects occur is likewise eternal, and never came into existence. This however is completely illogical, because both the universe and the series of causes and effects which occur within it are observable realities within our realm of experience, and therefore logically must have had an origin and a cause in order to exist.
(2) The series of causes and effects we see stretches back far into time, but had a specific origin and cause. In this case, the cause of the series of causes and effects we see in the universe, and of the universe itself, could not have been part of that series, nor a part of the universe, for a cause must always precede its effect. Therefore the cause of the universe must have been the first cause, the primordial cause, which caused the universe and its series of causes and effects to originate. The primordial cause must logically have been an uncaused cause, which preceded the universe and everything within it, including matter, energy, time, and space. We call this logically necessary, uncaused, eternally existing cause - God.

Its science fact. For something to exist there has to be something that has allways existed...nuf said?
Well add that to the science fact that no created thing can be more intelagent then the thing that created it, so evlution is blown out of the watter there...so just from those 2 Science facts, there has allways been an all intelagent being.
Throw into the mix if we were evloved beings we wouldnt be able to see beauty in anything beacuse it would be irrelavent. Morals had to be ingrained in us for them to exist at all, that also suports that we were created. We all want love, we all worship something. The bible says we were created to worship Him.
It all makes since, and thats just a few small things too.

He was, is, and will be. He has no beginning or end and can't be limited to our reasoning. if there was someone before Him, He wouldn't be God, somebody else would be. people want us to believe in evolution and that there was a Big Bang with gases and stuff, who created those? were those just there? God is so much more reasonable. all we need is one factor and He holds the answer to your every question. with every step of evolution there is questionable reasoning. even evolutionists disagree amongst themselves on what happened when and what happened first, then next.

you dont really have to know this. its a mystery! God is all powerful and almighty. there was nothing before Him. as a Catholic (thats also a christian) i know that God is the most powerful of all of us. so you should love Him cuz he created you... its a mystery because its eyes that have not yet seen, ears that have not yet heard and mouths that not have spoken He has no beginning and no ending. He has no equal and all powerful

God wasn't created. In John chapter 1 verse 1 it says "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God."God was always there. He had no beggining and will have no end.It very confusing and hard for a lot of people to understand.

The entirety of the Christian doctrine is about FAITH. Our finite, logical, analytical minds can not figure out everything. That is where FAITH comes in. To believe even though you can not figure everything out. God has no beginning nor end. He always was, is, and will always be. To our minds we can not figure this out because we have been taught to believe in something once we have seen it, but God's way is to believe and having not seen Him. God's way of thinking is the EXACT OPPOSITE OF HOW THIS SYSTEM TEACHES US TO THINK.

God is the alpha and the omega (the beginning and the end) according to Christianity. If there were someone or something before God, He wouldn't be a supreme being- someone else would.

That is beyond our understanding. God created everything that we can perceive. Your question is a good one but I don't think we have the capacities required to answer it.
