it has come to my attention that all this "what the bleep do we know" stuff is slowly becoming a religion that's taking the world by storm. i myslef am slowly falling into it, but it has ocurred to me, has anyone actually seen any proof that it's all true? these days anyone believes anything that starts with "scientists have proven that...." but how many people have actually seen this stuff being done? some people will probably say stuff like "but they're writing about it in encyclopedias and official sources" but isnt that exactly what all the scriptures on most religions is? some people believe it to be true, i'm not saying there hasn't been any proof found, but personally i have never seen or read anything that i would consider proof about this, except for what the bleep do we know and some interesting videos i found on youtube, so thats why i come here to yahoo answers to see if theres anyone who can 100% assuredly claim that all that stuff is actually true and that they have proof

I watched "what the bleep..." and was frankly underwhelmed. I was hoping to find it to be a quasi-documentary merging science with relgion. However, it was little more than an infomercial on New Age Mysticism. The "science" featured in the film was hardly convincing and most of it wasn't science at all. For instance, the "water crystal" display in the subway was played off as an experiment, but in truth it was merely the works of a Japanese artist, with no scientific process whatsoever. Another "fact" they promote is that the indians of hispanola couldn't see the ships of Columbus because they had never seen a large ship before. I've searched high and low to find any corroborating information to support that claim. As far as I can tell, it was just made up. If you're not convinced that the whole film is nonsense by the end, when JZ Knight reveals herself to be the 35,000 year-old warrior spirit, Ramtha, you should have no doubts thereafter.

I have not seen the video that you are referring to, but I agree with your comments on science and people taking most everything they say as "gospel". I've always thought the scientific phrase "We now know..." is interesting.
Does this mean that they thought they knew before, but now they realize that they were wrong.....but they know now? Can we be sure that they are right this time, and they won't have to change their minds again?
It sounds like they can't be trusted to tell us the truth the first time. How can we trust that they are right any time?
And nonbelievers say we're naive!

The difference is that if I wanted to see something that science claims to be true, I could look at evidence. There is no evidence for what is in the bible. The difference is whether the claims can be backed up.

Anyone that claims to know for sure, either way, is a complete idiot. I suggest you study and figure it out for yourself.
