WHAT IS A SURGEON

Surgeons are doctors who have completed at least five years of highly specialized training after medical school to gain the skills necessary to be called "surgeon." Evidence of a surgeon's ability is certification by the American Board of Surgery and accreditation by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Only those who have completed an approved residency and have passed rigorous examinations covering general surgical topics receive certification.
The letters F.A.C.S. (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after the name of a surgeon indicate his or her commitment to excellence and ethical conduct. The national standards of the college were established in order to ensure that the best possible care is rendered to each and every patient. Before conferring the title of fellow, the college thoroughly evaluates that surgeon's knowledge and skills.

The surgeons at Advanced Surgical Associates strive to maintain the highest standards of care and compassion, treating people, not cases or diseases.

some surgeon do heart surgeries and many mores. so a surgeon in general is a special doctor who deal with cutting people and particularly do surgery.

Um, I would say that a surgeon is the person in a hospital that does all of the surgery. There are different types of surgeons though. There are plastic surgery surgeons, and heart surgeons, and all that kind of stuff. HOPE I ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION.

Surgeons are doctors who do operations. There are many different surgical specialties.

Not only do they perform surgery (any monkey can be trained to do that), but they have to be able to diagnose problems and know what surgical procedures are appropriate. Sometimes knowing when NOT to do an operation is the most important thing.

Is this, perhaps, an incomplete question? A surgeon performs
surgery. (Different surgeons perform various sorts of surgery;
most of them specialize in one sort or another: heart, liver...
kidneys, gall bladder... and so on.)
What sort of surgery might you be curious about?

Ok, thanks for the two. Depends on the area getting surgery. A surgeon cuts people open and takes out body parts...Sometimes they reattach body parts. Neurosurgeon works on the brain or nervous system.

They are specifically trained to deal with surgical operations. This means that they are qualified to deal with actually cutting up the body whenever needs must, and this might include autopsy depending on law.. wiki it
