I would feel that they aren't highly educated, because if they were, they would've chosen a different country to move to.

If they come in legally, I have no problem at all. I do with illegals because they have no protection at all and are taken advantage of at every turn and there is something just so wrong about that. They don't even have to be highly educated, just fill out the paperwork and wait their turn like every other group. Then if someone cheats them or uses them, they can seek redress as any other person can. The potential for abuse when you aren't here legally is enormous.

I have to agree with Princess in asking exactly what do you consider "highly educated?" Could you be more specific here?
Anyways, if they were "truly" highly educated, as in equivalent to US College or University degrees, then I agree with others here who said Yes! Come on in! Because, I also believe that highly educated Mexicans would only come here legally and they would therefore be a BONUS to our country, rather than a DRAIN.

If it was legal, that is fine. If they are highly educated, that is great! It would be better for everyone if they would use some of that education to make their own country better, even if it meant coming here to get money first.
I believe everyone has a civic responsibility to make their country a better place, not just run a way from it.

perfectly fine, because they did it the legal way, and they are going to contribute to our society just like every other legal citizen. however, if they lack the knowledge to speak English, im gonna have a little problem with that, I have a problem with it right now, I shouldnt have to speak spanish in an english speaking country.

That would be a plus if they did it legally and were educated. However, the majority are not and they do it illegally. I am all for legal immigration.

A whole lot better, because their taxes would cover their education and services, and they would be less likely to use welfare and food stamps for their kids, or try to get 'free' (to them) health care based on low income.
However, they would also come legally, which removes the problem, to begin with.
