at your age it is probably not cancer. maybe strep or something. even so, your throat shouldn't hurt for a month, so you might want to check it out anyway. go to the doc.
also, it should tell you something about whether or not you want to keep making the choice to smoke. there is no up side to smoking and lots of down sides. smoking will leave you more susceptible to lots of infections, colds, etc. Also, say when you got older you fell in love & got married & had kids - if you smoked - your wife and kids would be 2 or 3 times more likely to get cancer than if you didn't. it's toxic for you and for those around you. there's lots of support out there for people who want to quit.. and developing that self control is something you could not only be proud of but also it could be a start to many much more interesting options. so about dropping the cigarettes - do it - you'll be glad you did.

You could go to www.cancerbackup.org.uk and find some answers about symptoms. It probably isn't cancer at all, but you sound as though you should see your GP anyway - you might have a really bad throat infection and need medication to clear it. Stop smoking - and put the money you spend every week on cigarettes into a savings account with interest. See what www.smile.co.uk can offer your age group - you can use your local post office to put money in their accounts.

No. But what he MAY Have is A Strep Throat. If you get him to the doctor he will most likely give him Pennicilan to clear up the problem. Strep Throats last a long time without medication, so get him in there. Blood Noses are very common and be caused by dryness, allergies, and at the very least High Blood Pressure.

It is rare for children to have cancer and it is even more rare for a child to have throat cancer. But it is not impossible. The answer is yes, 14 year olds can have throat cancer. Please read more about Unusual Cancers of Childhood at the National Cancer Institute.
It is not likely that you have throat cancer, but to be on the safe side you should be examined by your doctor. Only a medical exam can put your concerns to rest.
My son was a healthy 17 year old Junior in high school when he was diagnosed with a rare abdominal sarcoma. We dismissed his early concerns about his health because he looked healthy, had just had a physical so he could play basketball, and because it was unlikely that at his young age he would have cancer. We were wrong, and I will regret not listening to him forever.
Tell your parents or guardian that you want to see a doctor. Good luck (and try to stop smoking).

I doubt you have throat cancer..you probably have a throat infection, but if you keep up with this smoking you may end up with cancer eventually...quit while you are young and live longer, any way i can think of loadsa great things to spend a fiver on, you should save the money you would spend on fags and buy something you have always wanted, then you will have something to look forward to when you have saved enough. in the meantime pop to your doctors for a remedie for your sore throat. good luck..xxx

I would say you are paranoid! I have been a smoker for 20 years and last month I got the same as you, couldn't talk for 2 weeks went into hospital and it made me think the same!! and now I have more or less stopped. So it would be better if you start to think of what will happen if you don't stop now or very soon!!!
