I have four sons. Before becoming pregnant with my last on, I started taking Paxil for SEVERE anxiety, panic attacks, and mood swings, as well as weird fears and phobias. Thankfully my baby was okay, but we plan to have another, and I really want to wean off this and on to something natural first. Truthfully, Paxil is my lifeline. I hate this feeling. I would feel alot safer on something herbal, or more natural. Plus Paxil has caused alot of weight gain.

There is only one part of your question I can answer--If Paxil is you "life line" then you need to really talk to your doctor-the doctor that perscribed it for you, as well as your ob/gyn!!!!!! if you need to stay on Paxil then the most important doctor is your ob/gyn!!
I was on Paxil myself-though not when i was trying to have another baby--it seemed to me that paxil was a stableizer- but I felt the need to get off of the paxil-when i tried to wean myself off i had a hard time-I felt worse than--like crap-that was when i felt that i needed to find and alternative med to take it's place. I went to my psyche and asked for a way to get off the paxil and onto something else equivilant. She perscribed "Lexapro". because i had already weaned myself down to half the dose i was on with paxil, she had me skip a couple days of the paxil and at the SAME time she added the Lexapro, and it was smooth sailing. But it is important to know that just because this worked out for me--it may not neccessarily be apropriate for you--EVERYONE IS DIFFERANT--BUT MAYBE THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CAN ASK YOUR DR'S. Also I don't know how Lexapro is when you are pregnant. Do yourself a favor and search all possible options available before you get pregnant and always have your drs. involved. You have four children and i know you would like to have another-you are very blessed already! But maybe you may have to think harder about another blessing- especially if it means good mental health--and the health of another child. I truely hope that you can find a good and healthy answer.
GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm sure as hell not going to win 10 points with this answer but I can't resist. You basically admit you are unable to function without anti-depressants. And also, it sounds as if you didn't even bother consulting with your doc about the harm Paxil could do to your unborn last baby, since you expressed relief that he was OK. You are a mother of four kids and here you are on Yahoo asking a bunch of laypersons about what medication you should switch to.
Here's fifty cents: go out and buy a clue. The last thing you need is another kid; you most likely only want another one to fill an empty emotional void in your life. Talk to your doctor, not us!; Lose weight through diet and exercise. They are better than any anti-depressant medication.

I think you need to do yourself a favor and not plan any more pregnancies. You have four children and with each pregnancy you are putting more stress on your physical and mental health. Why are you doing this to yourself? Instead of taking meds, why don't you seek counseling to see why you have this anxiety in the first place? Perhaps your life is very hectic and hormones out of whack with all the children? You need to fix your life to get rid of the anxiety, counseling is the way to go.

Is your Lab a prime pleasant puppy? With Champions in her ancestry? Has she, herself received her Championship? Has she had all her trying out performed, X-rayed, wellbeing certificates from a Vet? You sound like a BYBer. Not figuring out what you're doing can rationale tons of disorders with the breed. Most pets are simply puppy pleasant & must now not be bred. If you have got to ask this query you haven't any industry breeding puppies. You must recognize what you're doing lengthy earlier than you even suppose approximately breeding. You cannot have got to ask this query. You have got to pass a warmness cycle & breed at the moment warmness after she has had puppies. Please, do a little extra study earlier than the moment warmness arrives. KNOW what you're doing & through all approach do correct through your puppy. She isn't a dog computer, she is your puppy.

You should consult with your doctor about this because it is important to have a baby but it is even more important your health. Without your health you can not do anything even if you do concieve and have a healthy baby if your health is not top notch than you will not even be able to tend to your babies. Take of yourself and remember before anything else put yourself first for once there are other options for having more children. Good luck and God bless.

You should see a psychologist. Studies have shown again and again that therapy especially cognitive behavioural therapy is just as effective as SSRI medication for depression and anxiety except, therapy teaches you something and your chances of relapse is actually smaller. Drugs are just a temporary trick on your brain.

If you have 4 kids and anxiety and mood problems, you should not have more kids. Although kids are great, the more you have, the harder your life is. They are a lot of responsibility,
