Sweet oil warmed up. Two drops in the ear. And an anti-inflammatory like aspirin, Tylenol or Advil.

But this is ONLY a temporary thing to tide one over until a Dr. can be seen. Your hearing is NOTHING to mess with!!!

I have total wax problem, it doesn't come out on it's own. But you have to figure out if this earache is from being sick or if you just have water in it or is it wax? If you have an infection, you need antibiotic because all the remedies will not work on an infection. If it's wax, health food stores sell a candle like item (I make my own, a Sicilian home remedy) but they sell imitation and it removes the wax with the smoke from the candle. It is hollow in the center. They will know what you're talking about in the store. If it is water (from showering) 90 proof alcohol, use a medicine dropper, and just a little bit will dry out the water. An ear surgeon told me to do this. That works for water but not the wax. I've hear of the warm olive oil treatment before but I have personally never used it. I make my own earwax remover candle, but I don't think I can explain how to make it correctly & they do sell them in the health food store. GNC has them. They work, maybe not as long a burn time as my homemade ones, but I helped my friend use them. Still most important is that you know if you need the antibiotic or not. None of the remedies will get rid of an infection.

My dad used to do shotguns in my ear w/his pipe, but since he doesn't smoke any more, and I don't live at home, I use Hydrogen peroxide. Tilt your head and put a few drops in. It feels funky cause you can feel the bubbles breaking through the blockage, just tilt your head back the other way into a napkin when you are done

Warm a potatoe in the microwave for a minute or so put a cloth over it and put it behind your ear or even infront of it.

Use heating pad or hot water bottle, not too hot tho. Lay down with it on sore ear. It will help until you see a doctor

Try using a hair dryer in your ear. Keep your ear comfortable. Just blow on the outer ear to warm it.
