Is extra virgin olive oil good for dry skin on the scalp?

In Italian culture, yes. EVOO was the VO5 of our house when I was a kid, and I am alive, and have great scalp. Use this on my bambino (child) as well.

They make Olive Oil Shampoos and we eat it so how bad can it possibly be?

I think you have vinegar mixed up with EVOO. Vinegar is good for your skin and hair, but it smells like, well, like vinegar.
