I always heard it: How far can a dog run into a forest?

(when you add "before running out" it kinda gives it away)

The instant you step INTO a forest, if you are facing an outer edge of it, you're running OUT. If you take one step in and immediately turn around, you're STILL going out.

If you are exactly in the center of the forest, then you are running out on your first step. (Unless you are walking, then you are walking out.)
