On my last vacation, I was changing the batteries constantly and I was using the ones for diginal devices. I really don't want to invest in a new camera right now, but neither do I want to carry a wangonfull of batteries. I saw a duracell rechargeable who said it took up to 4x more pictures. Any experiences to share?

Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries is the only way to go. But not all are create the same. Some goes hotter than others and the overall life time of the batteries may vary. Get the well known brand like Duracell or Energizer. Also, get the higher mAH if possible as you already know digital camera is a high drain device. I wouldn't get anything lower than 2200mAH. My set of Energizer Ni-MH 2500mAH batteries lasted for more than a year already and I still get good performance from them. Get a quick charger too (15mins charger). You'll be happy with it.

I use energizer rechargable "high energy" NIMH on my easyshare. I was going through tons of batteries like you and now one set will last quite a while. Problem is sometimes you get a dud battery and its hard to figure out which one since they all look alike and you use 2 at a time. A battery checker is nice for that.

I've had this same problem, use Energizer Lithium batteries. You can get them at any local grocery/conveinant store, they last 10x longer then any other batteries i've used. Hope this helps :)
