Studies have shown that smokers may be prone to cancer and other respiratory ailments. As for heavy alcohol, I'm not sure. But if you mean to consume alcohol heavily, then you are making yourself more likely to develop other health issues.

YES IT COULD!! TURN YOUR LIFE AROUND IT IS NEVER TO LATE!!
In my opinion I would not suggest or recommend conventional treatments, there are alternative approaches that can be taken. Cancer can accrue in the body when nutritionally (malnutrition is the lack of proper Nutrition / Vitamins / Minerals ; inadequate or unbalanced nutrition) the body is not in a condition to defend it's self against free radicals and other cancer causing agents. A nutritionally deficient body that has an acidic PH could support the growth and development of cancers. The body's PH balance is a very important factor to be considered, you want to have more of an alkaline PH, to have a body that is to acidic can be very dangerous. Here is some information for you about health.I suggest a change in diet, drink a lot of clean bottled water (my guess is that this person drinks coffee or soda, these things need to be taken out of the diet for sure and smoking as well) include MINERALS (the sports one is flavored or else i think that there are others that are flavored) AND EFA dietary supplements from a company called American Longevity, phone#1-800-982-3189 2400 Boswell Road, chula vista, California 91914 be careful about the amount of the mineral supplement do not exceed more then one tablespoon a day,Vitamins, the vitamin product that i use is called E 7 (essential seven.) the telephone number is 1(888) 737-7307 i would take only one half of one scoop a day . If you do some study about what exactly it is that all of these different vitamins and minerals PURPOSE INSIDE OUR BODY'S is you will probably figure out that they can help to elevate ALMOST all symptoms of ill health, there is a audio tape about minerals called "dead doctors don't lie" call 1800-982-3189 to order.
http://www.mannatech.com get a DVD from manna-tech called "OUTSIDE THE BOX" BY JEFF ALLEN this DVD will explain to you a lot of information about health and give some very good advice about cancer.
my hope is that you are a saved person, the bible says "we are loved by god with an everlasting love"(Jeremiah 5:8), you can go to http://www.bellevue.org and you can watch sermons live if you want p.s. HOPE I HELPED

From what I understand, some people have
a 'genetic dispositon' to it, and doing the
mentioned habits, can likely boost your
chances of developing it, that is why I guess
some people who never smoke get cancer,
and some people in their 80s90s smoke
like chimneys and never develop it, I think
it is a 'throw' of the genetic dice, but even if
your a healthy and have no family history of
cancer, would would u endanger your health,
which is a very precious commodity in this life,
from one who was 'touched' by it, (and
didn't smoke or drink yet!

Even people who don't smoke get cancer so you know your chances are like, tripled. People that smoke sometimes get cancer at age 80, so yeah it's possible.

Heavy drinking + smoking = a great chance of laryngeal cancer
Keep working at it, and you can be breathing through a hole in your neck and talking with one of those buzzy things.
Idiot.
