This is what I think: The quran was first revealed in Arabic. So we as muslims are responsible for going to the source in the language it was revealed. Arabic is a very special language. Very specific about its meaning.

Unlike the bible which was written in Hebrew (Torah), Greek (Not the original language of prophet Jesus (PBUH) and then translated and changed into more than 40 versions with varient amounts of books. The QUran remains unaltered.

Seen that you can not translate something from one language to the other in a 100% manner, the Quran must be understood in its original from Arabic.

But wanted to hear your thoughts... Thanks!

Muslims pray toward Mecca, the holiest of cities.
Mecca is the holy city where Muhammad lived. It is also the place where the Ka'bah is found The Ka'bah is the stone building which Muslims believe was the first place built by Adam (the first human) for the worship of God.

Each period for prayer has a special name and each time is separated by two hours.
These essential times are:

After first light and before sunrise ( Fajr )
Between the sun reaching its height and mid-afternoon ( Dhuhr )
Between mid-afternoon and sunset ( Asr )
After the sun has finished setting ( Maghrib )
In the dark of the night ( Isha )

As to prayer in the language, Islam was handed down in that language so it is supposed to be upheld and said in that language.

Please stop the negative comments about this religion. It is beautiful when you really know it. If for no other reason than that it is a brother religion to that of Christianity and Judaism.

Muslims pray to Allah in the direction of the Ka'abah in the city of Makkah because that is commanded by Allah in the Qur'an

For any reference point on the Earth, the Qibla is the direction to the Kaaba. Muslims are ordered to face this direction during prayer (Qur'an 2:143-144). While it may appear to some non-Muslims that Muslims worship the Kaaba, the Kaaba is simply a focal point for prayer, in a similar fashion to the cross for Christians or the Western Wall for Jews.

The earliest Muslims prayed towards Jerusalem. According to Islamic tradition, when Muhammad was praying in the Al-Qiblatain mosque (in Medina), he was ordered by God to change the qibla direction from Jerusalem to Mecca and the Kaaba. Various theories are advanced as to the reason for the change. [2]

In Arabic, because that is how the Prophet taught us to pray, that is the language of the Qur'an and the Qur'an can be fully appreciated in its original Arabic language.

In the name of God most gracious most mercifullthere is a Hadith that says: Allah is odd and likes odds ,like Allah is the only true God and God is one ,so there is only one way, one religion, the religion of unity, one ummah, one shareea.

we have one quibla,= one direction, all the mosques have the same direction from the north, or from the south, or from the east or west all toward mecca, that shows you that 1400 years ago they couldn't know that the earth is round, but because of the commands of God the prophet changed the direction toward mecca.now we can know why.

we have one book the quran, we worship one God, only one prophet was enough to spread the message of God.

to respond to the bised mind of some christians:

the pagan arab never prayed facing mecca, but they worshiped the 360 idols in and all arround the quaaba .

Do you know that Abraham rebuilt the house of Allah for prayers, to make all the people of every nationality to come for pilgrimage, and it is happening now after the prophet Muhammed chased the pagans and idol worshiper << read the quran>> this is a miracle why?:

1- because in the quran it says that God ordered Abraham to rebuild the quaaba in mecca

2-Abraham made a prayer that people come from everywhere for pilgrimage.

3-Abraham made a prayer to make prophets from his descendants that will revive his rituals.

4-Abraham made a prayer to make this land fruitfull, peacefull, rich....

5-when the prophet Muhammad was in mecca, the quaaba was already ther full with statues and idols

6-Muhammad revived the rituals

7-when Muhammad died mecca still desert.

8-look at it now : people are coming from every nation, the coutry is rich with oil and gold

note: the muslim turn arround the quaaba 7 times in the direction of the rotation of the earth !!

For the one who was muslim and changed his religion I say: you are right that people pushed you to do something that you think is impossible. Know that you have to trust your heart and ask yourself why you changed? is it because of the people or because you didn't understand the meaning of THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH.

secondelly, you have to ask people of knowlege, because this religion is the religion of nobody, this religion is the religion from God and God made it easy, in the begining you have to pray the way you can, no arabic is needed. afeter with time God will make it easy for you and he will guide you. I know many americans muslim reciting the quran in arabic< it's a miracle for me>. these things depend on your level of faith, but leaving islam is not the good Idea because if you die today you will regret your action, you alone can change this situation with the guidance of God.

Know that God will show you many signs and the more you denie them the more it will be difficult for you to go back to the truth or right way.

Are you thinking of leaving Islam? However, at that time of revelation Muslims where few and they mostly Arabs and Muhammad wanted Mecca to be the capital of Islam (the new religion) instead of Jerusalem ( at the beginning Muslims face Jerusalem) which was under the control of Christians and if Muslims wanted at that time to go Hajj to Jerusalem they would be not accepted by Christians and it would be clashes between them and Islam would be finish at it's birth as Christians way out number Muslims.

I dont care too much and somebody should tell them the Earth is round so it doesnt really matter what direction you do anything in.

Arabic is an easy language to learn and talk in.

they pray in the direction of mecca, and they pray in Arabic because they believe that is the only way a true Muslim would speak to Allah (God)
