i dont hate evangelicals. but overall u have to admit they are pretty hardline. they are very if ur not with us ur going to hell.
i think they have the best intentions and are truly working towards the final goal of getting into heaven. but these are some of the things that i dont agree with. they seem to believe, in other religions minus judaism (which they seem to love more than fellow christians) that other religions are all going to hell. they hate gay people yet their leader and founder, was caught getting a male prostitute, and purchasing drugs. but the thing i hate the most, is their failure to ask questions. i knwo alot of evangelicals are extremely educated. but they do follow their leaders as if they are the next messiah and can do no wrong. btw this post is in response to my last post, i dont watn people to think im totally against this religion. im just a little ticked off since because of them, we have this wacko GB who these people blindly follow, i mean they ask no ?s

Do you know any?

You should really get to know us better, you have a number of misconceptions:

1. Those of us who walk right don't hate. Those that do are in a sorry state and need to grow up in Christ.

2. As far as heaven and hell. We're just reading from the Bible. It also has nothing to do with "being with us" or against us. It is about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have HIM you have salvation.

3. We don't work toward a "goal of getting into heaven" it is by Christ's sacrifice that our sins are forgiven. Salvation was attained FOR us by Jesus. Anyone who accepts his FREE GIFT of salvation has instantly attained salvation and "gets into heaven"

4. Uggh. We don't hate gay people we SHOULD (and many of us do) Love them. But engaging in homosexuality is a sin - not my words - the Bible's.

5. Haggard is NOT our "leader" and "founder". We have associations like all other groups that want representation - unions, feminists, gun owners etc. He was the president of one of these associations and the founder of a single church.

6. These "leaders" are NOT to be followed. A true Christian follows Jesus. All men are fallible - as Haggard proved.

There are Christians of ALL stripes, united in one thing: We've given our lives - our allegiance to Jesus Christ. In doing so , he's forgiven our sins. That's it!! That's all it takes to be a Christian.

The word "Evangelical" means that you're zealous about spreading the good news as Jesus said we should be. Most of us love to spread the gospel because of the joy it has brought us. We want to bring that to others!

Well I'll ask a question. What do you call an Evangelical?

"Evangelicals" is such a broad term. The word Evangelical is from the word evangelism, which means to go out and spread the gospel, or to go out and tell people what you believe. Evangelists are people who do this. Some people also call them evangelicals. Anyway the point I'm getting at is that there are different types people who call themselves Evangelicals. They are part of different religions or different denominations. Their beliefs and actions vary alot. So to talk about "Evangelicals" as if they were all the same is not exactly accurate.

They follow because they trust. They have faith. It may be faith in the wrong people, but they have faith.
