Unfortunately, we are all exposed to carcinogens. The exhaust from our cars and the pollution in the air from factories can be contributing factors to even a healthy person getting the disease. Dana Reeve, the late wife of Christopher Reeve, never smoked a day in her life and lived a healthy lifestyle. A Karate instructor where I work is one of the healthiest people I know and came down with Lymphoma. You just never know. But your chances of surviving such a disease are much greater if you've taken great care of yourself.

A lot of the answerers referred to the toxins that we breath and the carcinogens that we are around every day as a great possibility to getting cancer. But my dad lost his little brother and older sister to cancer while he was growing up back in the 1920`s. They were not exposed to the carcinogens that we have today. They did not use pesticides to grow their crops so the vegetables were organic, they did not use hormones to put in the feed of their beef, pork or poultry, and the milk was organic. They lived on the farm 35 miles away from any town and air pollutants. So I really think you are born with a cancer gene.

Cancer can affect the most healthiest people on earth. I was in perfect health and just had a baby, didn't do drugs and about 2 years later was diagnosed with cervical cancer and no one in my family had ever had it before - now my daughter who's 36 has been diagnosed with cervical cancer - it kind of runs in the family if another family member has it (sometimes - not all the time) Cancer is just one weird sickness that they haven't been able to pin-points why, where, when, or whatfor.

cancer can affect anyone. eat all the vegies you want. cancer doesn't know what kind of weights you lift, or food you eat. cancer has a mind of it's own. it happens to people all over the world of every gender/race/color/smell.....etc. doesn't matter if you were never around a toilet cleaner or a laundry detergent, cancer doesn't care. if it is going to happen, it does. nothing you can do to stop it. cancer was not in my family genes and i got it. i didn't ask for it, and no amount of money or sunshine will remove it. it is there. it is a war.

Cancer can happen for a number of reasons so to say something like that will never happen to me is probably not a smart approach.Good for you on eating healthy and organic.you do not want to worry about getting cancer because you could creat somithing like that by always letting your mind dwell on it, live life be happy because this is the life that we have. here is some information for you about cancer. In my opinion I would not suggest or recommend conventional treatments, there are alternative approaches that can be taken. Cancer can accrue in the body when nutritionally (malnutrition is the lack of proper Nutrition / Vitamins / Minerals ; inadequate or unbalanced nutrition) the body is not in a condition to defend it's self against free radicals and other cancer causing agents. A nutritionally deficient body that has an acidic PH could support the growth and development of cancers. The body's PH balance is a very important factor to be considered, you want to have more of an alkaline PH, to have a body that is to acidic can be very dangerous. Here is some information for you about health.I suggest a change in diet, drink a lot of clean bottled water (my guess is that this person drinks coffee or soda, these things need to be taken out of the diet for sure and smoking as well) include MINERALS (the sports one is flavored or else i think that there are others that are flavored) AND EFA dietary supplements from a company called American Longevity, phone#1-800-982-3189 2400 Boswell Road, chula vista, California 91914 be careful about the amount of the mineral supplement do not exceed more then one tablespoon a day,Vitamins, the vitamin product that i use is called E 7 (essential seven.) the telephone number is 1(888) 737-7307 i would take only one half of one scoop a day . If you do some study about what exactly it is that all of these different vitamins and minerals PURPOSE INSIDE OUR BODY'S is you will probably figure out that they can help to elevate ALMOST all symptoms of ill health, there is a audio tape about minerals called "dead doctors don't lie" call 1800-982-3189 to order.

The unfortunate truth is that anyone who lives long enough will develop cancer. Of course, if someone is around toxics they're likely to develop cancer much sooner.

Cancer can happen to anyone. I had a patient recently who was dying from throat and lung cancer and he never smoked or drank alcohol in his entire life. Sad case.

I honestly believe that there are so many potential causes of cancer, that virtually anybody could get it no matter how well they take care of them self. Of course that is not to say that those who do take good care of their health will probably have a significantly lower cancer risk.

cancer can strike anyone. it does not matter. All cancer is are cells that have no code to tell them when to stop reproducing. so they just grow and grow and kill healthy cells. the reason More people who have cancer are people who smoke, etc are that those things are carcinogens and actually cause normal cells to become damaged and loose the ability to stop growing.
