They aren't too poor to have a pet, but the problem they have with their dog will cost alot which they can't afford.

I had the same your problem, I was poor, and when my dog swallowd the rubber toys, needed surgery, it costed me over $1000 dollars, I told directly my problem and the truth to the VET, and he sympathied my plight, to show I am animal lover, after that He let me pay him every month in stall, little by little until I paid off, and my dog is heathy... Thanks the Vet I love him very much

The humane society charges alot less than a vetinarian does. You may want to contact a church and see if they can help with some money. Or call a reporter to do a story and ask for donations...It is so sweet for you to be concerned about animals. You are a descent human being. You could also talk to a vet. and ask if they could give your friend a payment plan...good luck

Why don't their friend pitch in and help??????????????????????
You can try the Humane Society, but shelter are overrun with people who can't afford their pets.
If friends can't help, sign the dog over to the shelter so maybe they can get the dog help and get it a home that can afford it.

Sometimes animal shelters have low price or free vet services. I hope your friend can work something out!

Check with the local ASPCA, Animal Shelter, etc. They may be able to help or give good information.

I'm gonna say what many people are thinking--if someone is "poor" then they shouldn't own a pet.
