My female cat is a little over a year old, she's indoor-only, and eats only cat food. I've recently noticed that she bleeds from her anus when she poops. There's been blood in her poop as well. I'm going to take her to the vet, but until I can get in, I would like to know if anyone knows what is causing this... Thank you!

My cat has been doing this since she was a kitten. She is 2 now. We took her to vet after vet and they couldn't find anything wrong with her. We switched her food, but she still does it sometimes. It doesn't seem to be bothering here so we quit worrying about it.
However, I would go get it checked out since it's new to you.

I would first think that the cat may have parasites(WORMS),if it isn't up to date on all vaccination/deworming then that is probably the problem. Please be careful in giving your cat a wormer,as cats can't be wormed with the same wormer as dogs, with the exception of the wormer called PANACUR,but this can only be purchased at any vet clinic.

Do you think she is menstruating? If you go to the pet store you can buy her sanitary pads (if they still make them). Give her a week and watch if there is still blood present in her droppings.
