I'm looking to spend under $40 a night, but I'm willing to stay anywhere that has a shower and a lock on the door... are there cheap little motels to be found in parts of Oregon in this price range? Any recommendations? (I'm traveling the whole state, so any city or town will do)

A friend just stayed in one in Newport last night for $35. He didn't say the name of the hotel, but it is next to the restaurant "Big Guys".

Go to priceline.com my husband and I traveled from texas to Oregon,we were staying in 4&5 star hotels for 45 dollars in every state. You bid on the rooms and we always got accepted for 45 or 50 dollars and these were 250dollar a night rooms.I did see some cheap motels in oregon though but they weren't that nice.Have fun.

Know anyone with a AAA or CAA card? Most of the motels and accomodations will fall in that catergory, be sure to ask for AAA discount.
