There is no "best" or "most powerful" martial art. There are many good powerful arts. It is the artist, not the art.

It's not the art that's the strongest, it's how the person uses their own style. I myself take Taekwondo. I have some friends in Martial Arts as well, here's what we all take:

Me/Kirsten: Taekwondo
My boyfriend/Thad: used to take Taekwondo
Cinna: Karate
Tyler D.: Taekwondo
Tyler S.: Kung Fu
Jacob: Taekwondo
Patrick: Taekwondo
Januzch: Taekwondo
Haley: Taekwondo
David: Taekwondo
Tori: Taekwondo
Anthony: Taekwondo
Andrew: Taekwondo
Wayne P.: Mixed Martial Arts (but he sucks, lol.)

I don't know, too many people take Taekwondo with me, lol. But, even though we all take different arts, when we're sparring it doesn't matter. Sometimes the Taekwondo is stronger than Karate, and sometimes not. I've never sparred with Tyler S, but he could probably beat my bum, only because he's been in Kung Fu longer than I've been in Taekwondo. It doesn't matter, though. Like I said, it's not the art or the belt color, it's how the person uses their skills.

I think that any kind of martial arts that teaches self defense is a powerful form. But the grappling type i think is only useful for sparring in class because on the streets it doesn't usually go to the ground if your a good martial artist.

The art is not powerful the artist is. How many times are people going to reword this question. The Artist makes the art. The artist in any art can be weak so you cannot say one art is more powerful than the other.

G'day adhithya,

Thank you for your question.

I suspect that most martial arts would claim to be the most powerful with the exception of Tai Chi. For mine, it would be a choice of kung fu or karate.

Regards
