They both want a church wedding but the man has divorced before and the woman he wants to marry isn't a christian?

Do both close families of the couple (meaning their mum, dad, sister(s), brother(s)) need to attend church every week for 6 months in order for this to be allowed? or do jus the couple them selves need to attend the church?

im confused because its my girlfriend's sister who wants to marry and apparently my girlfriend needs to attend the church every week with her sister (that wants to marry) and their mum and dad? is this true?

The church which they want to marry at is the groom to be's local church (it is the closest to his house) however this church is in Weymouth and my girlfriend and her mum and dad live in Poole so its about 30 miles away and it takes just under 45mins to get there! Im sure they wouldn't mind going as much if it was closer because there are lots more churches closer. They respect people beliefs and views and so do i but they feel that its a bit of a hassle to go out to weymouth every sunday. so i was just wondering whether there could be rules which state they need to attend?

I think it depends on the pastor marrying them, the church, and the denomination sometimes. There isn't a set of rules like that that goes for every church. They should maybe look at some other ones?

It depends on the denomination and the minister(preist, pastor, etc.).

Some churches require the couple to be members for a certain amount of time (sounds like that is the case with this one), but I've never heard of a church wanting the whole family to be members, not just the couple.

Personally, I think that is outrageous if they are really forcing the whole family to join.

Many churches would require much less, like a fee and meetings with the preist.

Never heard of anyone having to attend other than the Bride and Groom to Be, that is usually the case if they want to get married in a Church. It's great that your girlfriend is going to Church, she could possibly just want to belong to a Church and doesn't know how to ask you to join her in doing so, or she might just want to have some time alone without you, I wouldn't wait for an invitation I would just go and satisfly your curiosity, the sooner the better so you don't jump to the wrong conclussions.

It all depends on the church. Some churches/religions are more strict than others. Some reserve wedding ceremonies for regular members only, while some allow strangers, non-saved, divorced, ect...to marry in their church for a fee. They just need to check around.

It all depends on the church and the pastor, as for me I would look for another church, too many rules.

You would have to check with the pastor or minister of your church.
