She whelped a litter of 10 puppies over a week ago. She had an appetite until 2 days ago. She is drinking and staying hydrated, not to mention the puppies are nursing and look great. I notice no signs of mastitis/milk fever. I have even offered her some table scraps, but she had no intrest? If shes not better she will go to the vet monday, however any thoughts as to whats going on would be appreciated.

Sometimes my females will do the same thing after having a big litter of pups.I always try them on something else when they won't eat.Try boiling her some chicken,cut in small pieces and watch her go.This will help her get back on track,as the old saying goes GrandMa's chicken soup will cure all.

Dogs are incapable of starving themselves to death. 2 days is not an unreasonable amount of time for a New mom to not eat. If she hasnt eaten anything by Monday a quick trip to the vets is a good idea.

I have a St as well.. Maybe she is tuckered out & needs some more time to heal. Her body has went thru a huge change with having 10 pups. If her spirits are good & she's being good with the pups, I wouldn't get too nervous. But would check with your vet just to be sure that she's ok.

Well, im sorry to hear this but maybe the you'r dog isen't feeling good. Well I have to say that has never happened to my dogs before. So I think its a good idea to take him to the vet.

perhaps she is just to exhausted to eat how would u feel taking care of 10 puppies at one time. get her to the vet monday and let him check her out and b safe.

relax and think about it. pups, she tends to them taking care of the disposal of the pups bodily functions. Would you want to eat? relax. let her be the momma dog. she is fine and will eat food when she is hungry. bless your hear for being a paranoid doggie mom. and congratz on your puppie kids!!

Awww, I'm so sorry!!! Don't worry, though, it's only been going on for 2 days, she'll start eating in 2 days or less:)

so long as she is drinking, don't sweat it for the weekend, just get to the vet on Monday.
