Try doing a search for clinical research on www.pubmed.com. Pubmed is an internet portal used by medical professionals to research different medical topics. Anything published in a scientific journal, regarding medical topics, can be found on that site. It is a very good resource.

Schizophrenia is not found in children at all. These are a group of illnesses whose onset is associated with Puberty or a physical Trauma of some kind like a head injury. Even then this does not always cause the illness to become active even where someone is at risk of developing it because other family members have had such an illness. AND it remains an incredibly rare group of illnesses. Any behaviour seen in children considered psychotic is likely to have an organic or psychological basis and frankly some of it will just be bad behaviour. Society is becoming obsessed with giving things labels to such a degree that the actual point is being missed. Children need lots of love and firm boundaries, they do not need medication to modify their behaviour, they need parents who will spend time with them, not throw money at them and tell them to go away.

Sounds like you are looking for some unnecessary blame. Thats the last thing you need on your mind. Stuff like this is no ones fault. It just happens. Instead of driving yourself insane, spend your energy on loving your kid and learning as much as you can about it. Study how the brain works and what environmental factors impact it.

I firmly believe for every disease there is a cure on this planet.

God bless and best of luck.
