Every cat over the age of ten needs a yearly exam by a vet which will include blood work to see that all organs are functioning properly and a look at the gums and teeth. Bad breath is usually caused by plaque buildup and bacteria clinging to the teeth.

My 22 yr old cat had her teeth cleaned in May. Your cat is not old so take good care of her.

Does he have teeth issues already? If that is genuine undesirable, make certain there's no an infection that needs a pair weeks clinical care. Brushing a cat's teeth is amazingly undemanding and could ward off costs down the line in case your cat is already having mouth subject matters. All you should do is brush both part in order that that you get any nutrients and crusties off -- ideally for quite, yet even in basic terms one mushy swig will be efficient each and every evening. you are able to also purchase different stuff like mouthwash, and so on., from a puppy save. Dry cat nutrients can help teeth a touch also.

Take her to the Vet. My cat (14 yrs. old) has the same problem. This past Monday I took him to the vet to have his teeth cleaned. Because of his age they advised that I have some blood work done first. I agreed and they found that my cat was in renal failure. The vet said that bad breath can be a symptom. He also told me that renal failure is a leading killer in older cat. I'm not trying to scare you-I just don't want anyone else to find out about renal failure the hard way like I did. Please take your kitty to the vet. Let me know how it turns out!

much like humans, animals should go to the vet to have their teeth clean. You cat is probably way over due. Take them to the vet to have a dental. It's a surgery type procedure. they'll put your cat under anesthesia and clean the teeth. They might even have to pull some of them if they are bad. They'll go home the same day, just have to eat less food. Check into it. It's not that expensive.

I agree with everybody about it being gum disease. I take both my dogs to the Vet for dental cleaning once a year plus I brush their teeth several times a week. You can buy cat or dog toothpaste at the pet store and the pet's love the taste.

well my cat is about 4 yrs old and she had bad breath too. You could go buy those treats for cats for their teeth, or you can go to the vet and ask if they can brush her teeth or something related to that

It's already been said, but the first thing I thought of was tooth decay. She is older now and her teeth are probably getting bad. I agree with the people that suggested you take her to the vet.

You probably need to take your cat to the vet to get it's teeth and gums cleaned. It may have developed periodontal disease and has pockets in it's gums that may require the vet to clean them out. My brother has been plagued with it for years and tho he is not a cat it just reminded me of him...LOL

when my cat turned 12, i noticed she had extremely bad breath. kind of like a fishy smell. the vet said it was because she was getting older. so they offered to clean her teeth, and that helps a bunch! so you can maybe bring her/him to the vet to get his teeth cleaned
