Am very new to this category, need help. I use dale's steak seasoning produced in Alabama. It's ok but it's used to marinate. In retirement I'm cooking more and more. Am lazy when it comes to cooking so far. Ditto frying pearch, fish is bland alone, so anyone know a sauce to put on fish? Talking sauce bought in a store.

I like Thai peanut sauce to dip the chicken in after it's cooked -- saves the hassles of marinating. I don't know what brands are available in your area, so I can't give you a specific name.

Ditto a good teriyaki sauce, which can be used for both marinating and dipping. And as someone else already pointed out, Italian dressing or a good vinigrette dressing can be used as a sauce for chicken.

There are several brands of premade garlic butter that are made for shrimp scampi, but there're also delicious for perking up blander white fish. I think they also make a dill butter that's good for oily fish like salmon. Check the seafood case at your store.

An awesome sauce for baked chicken is fresh lemon juice, melted butter and Worcestershire. Cheap, easy and sooooo full of flavor!!

For baked fish, I like lemon juice (again), garlic, butter & a little Tabasco.

Bon appetit!

An old man I worked with years ago gave me this recipe for bbq chicken and it is wonderful.
Sauce
2 bottles open pit traditional
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp Louisiana hot sauce ( more if you like it hot )
use extra heavy foil
wash chicken cut in half and wrap in heavy foil with 1/2 sauce mixture
set in shallow baking pan and bake for 2 hours at 300
the sauce will cook all the way through the chicken.
remove from heat cool in fridge for 3 hours ( do not remove foil while cooling) the cooling keeps the meat from falling off the bone
warm on grill or in oven basting with sauce every 15 min. for 1 hour. This seems like allot to go through for bbq chicken but it is worth it.
