To begin with, there are no such things as teacup chihuahuas... The reality is that they are very small runts in a litter. The only reason they are sold for such a high price is because they are so tiny, but being a runt puts them at risk for being less healthy. They are also really hard to take care of because they can be dropped easily. If you want a small but healthy chihuahua, then you should find a pup who's parents are both small. You can check your local classifieds and even the internet for people in your area. Hope this helps!

There is no such breed as a teacup chihuahua. There is only one bred and that's the chihuahua. Unscrupulous breeders sometimes advertise the runts as teacups and ask for more money when in fact these sickly weak pups should be sold at a reduced price because of all the health problems they have.
I doubt you will get any kind of chu=ihuahua for that money because they are selling for well over £1000 due to the fact that they are 'fashionable' . Why not consider getting an adult chihuahua from the breed rescue? If you are interested in them as a breed then this is a good idea. However if you are wanting a living breathing fashion accessory then you are on your own. I despise people who get a dog because they are fashionable.

There is no such thing as a "teacup" chihuahua. You can however get a petite chihuahua just like any other breed/species. Teacup is just another american marketing point and not a very healthy one to advertise either. My chihuahua weighs 3 pounds and my friends weighs 7 but there is no difference in breed.

Use either the kennel club or ask you local vet if they know of any breeders. Blues aren't overly common but if you genuinly like the breed and don't just want something small to treat like a doll then I can guarantee you any chihuahua will be great

There is no such thing as a teacup chi. It's a fake designation made-up by unethical breeders who breed crap dogs for money. Call your local rescue groups and see if they have any that have come in. Try your national CHI club and see if they are any purebreds that need to be rescued.

Edit for Karen T - NO, there is NOT any such thing. Just because I call my cat a dog, doesn't make it so. Just because your unethical breeder told you there is, doesn't make it so. Read the links I gave. The chihuahua club of america clearly says that there is no such thing. Seriously. Sigh.

There's a list of smooth coat chihuahua breeders here:
http://www.champdogs.co.uk/guided/all_smooth-coat-chihuahua.html

and long coat chihuahua breeders here:
http://www.champdogs.co.uk/guided/all_long-coat-chihuahua.html

However, the term 'Teacup' is not recognised or endorsed by any of the major Canine Associations such as the AKC (American Kennel Club) or the British KC ( Kennel Club ). It is a purely descriptive term for a Toy dog which might, or might not, be smaller than the official size standard. Some breeders might recognise that a puppy in a particular litter is smaller than the others & may advertise it accordingly ... other breeders might just advertise all their pups as teacups ... once you've adopted one & grown to love it, you're not really going to mind if it grows a little bigger than expected ... after all the breed description gives a weight range between 2 & 6 lbs & 6lbs is hardly very big.

There don't appear to be any puppies listed as available on the Champdogs site but if you contact one of the breeders on the list, maybe once you've checked out that they are okay & breed healthy, happy puppies (& they've checked you out) - maybe one of them will put you on a waiting list for a blue, smaller than ususal, puppy.

I did find some ads though ... not quite what you want but ...

There's little dark cream & white ones for £300:

Long coat boys for £650:

And tiny ones over your budget at £995:

A blue cream girl puppy - £1,550!!!

And a golden cutie for £600:
http://pets-adoption-sale.vivastreet.co.uk/cats-dogs/cutie-adorable-chihuahua-puppy

There's also the ePupz site - which has loads of adverts for both Chis & Chi crosses ... did find a beautiful blue & white chi puppy on there but that one was £1,650 unregistered! Still, I expect that there are new adverts added daily so you may find what you want:
http://www.epupz.co.uk/search/puppies_for_sale.asp?breed=Chihuahua&area=all&st=1&pn=1&rn=10&sortby=datecreated+DESC

Finally, there's a whole load of adults advertised here:
http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/pets4homes/home.nsf/dogsforsale!openform&Breed=Chihuahua

It's a bit of surprise to see the large variation in prices but hope that this has been some help ... but to be honest, I think your best bet is to contact one of the breeders & be asked to be put on the waiting list for a blue puppy.

Yes there is a such thing as it because I have one myself. And the best way to get one is from a newspaper. I got my blue teacup from a newspaper for $350. Good Luck!
