It,s possible your cat just had "ear mites"rather common in ALL animals.simply buy drops for this..also "sweet oil" / olive oil is homopathic and would be soothing...p.s.Don,t keep digging at the cats ear.these two meds will kill pests ie:mites and oil will aid in healing//good luck kittykat..Don.t self diagnois take to vet pronto..

That would be a good way to make your cat lose its hearing permanently. :-(

Peroxide should NEVER be used to clean out an ear canal in animals. It will flat-out damage the tympanic membrane (eardrum.)

How do you know it's an ear infection? What type of ear infection....bacterial? (if so, what TYPE of bacteria?) yeast? mixed? Different types of infections require different types of medication. How do you know it's not an earmite or feline scabies problem? Don't mess around with this on your own unless you just want to cause your cat to get worse.

I suspect you have a background in human medicine...because that's not what we call the lymph nodes you think are swollen. ;-)
(And if they are, your cat needs systemic medications and further diagnostics, as ear infections only rarely cause enlarged lymph nodes in animals.)

Not only that, but the medication you are using is not even FOR infections. It contains nothing in it to fight any type of bacteria OR yeast. It is a type of corticosteroid. While useful for inflammation, corticosteroids alone will worsen any type of actual infection, unless accompanied by something for the infection itself.

Please seek proper medical assistance for your cat.

Why not just go to the vet???????????????? The vet can actually look indise and see if there is something else going on, like polyps or something. Medicating yourself is never a good idea. And do not clean the ear too well.....the vets like to see the crud IN THE EAR.....it helps them diagnose the problem!!!!!!

why don't u take it to the vet and get a proper diagnosis and the proper medicine. in otherwords, don't give it people medicine unless the vet says it is ok.
