First and foremost u must figure out the problem. Why would you try to even try to fix the problem if you don't know what it is in the first place. Once you do figure it out then u will know what to do. P.S. It may sound like it but I am not a psychiatrist but i'm not. I'm probably younger than you. I'm just a really good person to come to when someone has a problem.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A PROBLEM TO BE DEPRESSED! That's a Myth!
Depression is not a "Mental Problem" its a Chemical Imbalance. What you need to do is go to your regular doctor and ask for anti-depressants, tell him why and take it exactly like the label says. If it doesn't work in the first 2 months (sometimes it takes up to 6 weeks for the full effect to take) ask for a dosage upgrade. Wait a month and if that doesn't help (its been 3 months now) get a different anti-depressant. That sounds pushy, but you've given this anti-depressant 3 months and it hasn't helped, there are simply way too many different ones to live a miserable life to not switch to a different one!
Usually, you will only have to switch anti-depressants every 1 - 3 years or even longer if fortunate! And as far as crying at Disneyland, I would have too, lol, it would have just brought out my depression. Also, you don't have to be suicidal to be miserable, do you?
Go to the doctor or you local County Mental Health Clinic (through your local County Health Clinic). Your local county health clinic usually offers a visit doctor very cheap (based on your salary), then if they think you need a psychologist or psychiatrist, they can set you up with one cheaply, also based on a % of your pay.
Good luck!!!

Tell me, did something happen recently in your life that upset you? Thats good that you have no thoughts to harm yourself,
but, I think maybe a little counseling could help? They dig where
you can't & believe me, they will help you find what your looking
for. I get counseling once a week. I've been depressed for a
long time. How long has this been going on for you? Crying at
Disneyland - gosh, that is not good! You may need some meds
too, just to tide you over. If you have been feeling like this over
2 weeks, the rule of thumb is to seek professional help.

you have two choices , medicine that has side effects or beat it on your own, I live with it every day. I have found some things that make it bearable most of the time. 1. every single day you wake up think of the positive things that you have in your life(this takes time and practice for a long time to feel results , but it works) 2. multivitamins one a day. 3. sunshine as much as possible(I had to move) my treatment took over two years to see some results and if I forget one of the 3 I fall back into it. does it effect your eating very bad? learn to live with it and i am sorry it sucks to have this condition. you will be ok if you find the things that work for you. warning: the meds can mess you up bad.

Think positive. Visualize happiness. Feel it, believe it.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=csiAsbPxmmY
It's your life and you decide every inch of it after birth. Decide that it will be a happy existance and not a sad one. If you believe something in your mind the universe will say "Your wish is my command" thusforth if you say my world is unhappy and depressed all the time and I wish it could be better, you'll always be depressed, but if you say I'm so happy and grateful my world is always happy, and always believe that philosophy and stick to it no matter what, even when you're not feeling so happy, eventually you'll go back to it and it'll be the truth. Just make sure it's "no matter what" and it will be that way.

Tell your family doc first and let them give you a complete physical. If they refer you to someone, don't get stressed...there's someone out there who can help you.
