they are getting to know each other, leave them alone. I had a male (neutered) cat hiss at a kitten for 10 days, and next thing you knew he watch watching it like it was his baby. He'd groom it, follow it, discipline it, sleep with him and take care of him.

You should let them be together for short periods at a time, it will take some time for the older cat to accept the new one and same goes for the little one not to be afraid of the older one. Don't yell at the older one just say be nice gently and things will work out. It is quite normal when a new cat enters the home of the only cat in the house.

I had the same thing so for the kitten I would introduce him to the older cat slowly for now keep the kitten away and get his scent on the older one toys that way the older one can get used to the new kitten after a week re introduce them again and they should at that time get along better but making them see each other right away is not a good idea for the older one has to get used to the baby

good luck 2 U and Congrats !!

Give them time to get used to each other. I would probably separate them for a few hours, anyway, just so the little kitten can get comfortable in his new home. He should have his own litter box in another area so he doesn't have to compete with the older cat. I'm sure they will be fine in a matter of days since they are both young.

You do not want the older one to resent you for having another kitten. Which could make the older one be mean to the kitten. I would just let them do their thing to get to know one another. The kitten will act like it is scared of the bigger one because it is intimidated by the size. Give it time cat's are more picky animals.

I think that sometimes they are just playing and sometimes maybe the older cat is being mean to the other one because my mamaw had two dogs and one is older than the other, and they sometimes are like that. I think that the older cat is just jealous of the other one, because the older one has been with you longer, and now when another cat comes then it just gets jealous. I think that you should just take time and play with both of them and find someway to get them to get along a little better, like play with both of them at different times, and then at the same time.

Just trust me on this one... They need time I once brought home a kitten and it took 2 weeks before they stopped hissing. 9 years later, they're still good buds, my mom has them. My current two are about 9 months apart. After 2 days they're best friends. I mean literally they sleep in a pile (pretty funny since they're now 6 & 7 one's 10lbs & one's 25lbs). Just relax, don't push it, and give them time to adjust

When Star came to live with us, Mandy was already 9 months old. She seemed to enjoy having the kitten join our family. Yes, she attacked it (playfully) but no harm was done. It's just their way of getting to know the other one. If a cat really doesn't like a newcomer they normally just growl and avoid the other one as much as possible.

just to let u know the bigger one will be a little tougher

it wants the other one to know who is boss

but after a while the little one might get carried away

this is normal

dont yell because then the other cat will think it is never supposed to play ( it might hate the little one for this)

little cats do not know how to control themself so dont yell but maybe seperate them sometimes not all the time

If I were you I would let them spend time together only supervised for a period of time. They older cat may be jealous and hurt the baby, also you shoudn't put them too close too fast. It takes time for them to adjust to a new pet. Let the older kitty have it's space. It will work out in a couple of weeks

I have always been told that you should separate them throughout the day and let them around each other for short periods of time (maybe an hour) Do that for a few weeks until they get used to each other.
