Good for you girl!!!

I too am a Christian Goth.

Hold on while I find something for you.....

This is my scribbling on what a Goth is from my own experience.

I hope you enjoy it.

Goth

Goth - A style of emphasizing the grotesque, mysterious and desolate

Grotesque – Outlandish, bizarre, also an artistic style of 16th Century Italy, ludicrous or incongruous

Desolate – Abandoned, forsaken, deserted

Forsaken – To give up, renounce, abandon

Source: American Heritage Dictionary

What is a Goth?

A Goth is someone who has very likely endured
a living nightmare.

We may have been forsaken by our families, communities or friends.

We may have suffered abuses and been forced to run and hide in the shadows from the monsters who are not afraid to walk in the light of day.

We may be a cop or a soldier who has seen too much ugliness, too much death and our minds are screaming while we try to function in a “normal world”.

The darkness we were so afraid of when we were children has become our comfort, our haven.

The grotesque becomes normal.

Desolation is peace and quiet.

We are all forsaken.

We dress so that others will leave us alone.

Our culture is all about coping with the horrors and stylizing them so we are no longer afraid of them.

Are you afraid of our nightmares? We aren’t.

We embrace them.

They let us know we are still alive.

Are you afraid of us? You should be.

Our lives are reminders of that which you don’t even want to know exists.

We are the souls, lost and forsaken who SCREAM our pain to the Heavens at the injustices committed upon us.

Can you hear us?

I've never heard anybody say that, but I guess the answer depends on what your definition of goth is.

If you're goth in the way that you wear all black, you don't care about popularity, and you wince at pop music, then that's probably not what these people are talking about. You're not doing anything wrong by being goth, and anybody who says that because you're goth, you're going to hell, should get a clue.

If somebody is goth in the way that they do not enjoy life, they hate everybody and they hate the world, then that IS immoral. People should enjoy life, not take what they have for granted. But if you go to church, it doesn't seem like this is the definition of goth that you call yourself.

My recommendation: Do not call yourself goth. Some people may misinterpret the word; it's very vague. Try some better adjectives to describe yourself!

It's probably because goth is associated with reverence of dark or evil things.
You portray to be dark and evil, so people will look at your outward appeareance and immediately think you're that way.

If you don't want people to view you like that, then why are you dressing to portray that image? If you wish to continue to dress that way, then you have to deal with the stereotypes that go along with it. It is your choice. You can't have both. People only see the outward appeareance, so the image you project is what you want people to judge you by.
If someone never washes or combs their hair, people will think they're a slob. If someone dresses with sports jerseys, people will think they are a sports fan. If someone dresses as a transvestite, people will think they are gay.
You are dressing goth so people will think you cling to evil.

As far as you going to church, well all I can say is that going to church doesn't guarantee you are going to heaven. What kind of church...pagan, Wiccan, Islamic, Christian, Catholic?
What kind of heart do you have towards God? Have you become a new creature in Christ? Do you follow the Word of God or your own desires?

The answers to those questions will determine your eternal fate. Not whether or not you attend church or how you dress.

There are many people that think I am going to hell (Mostly Nation of Islam and Jews) because I am Christian. People can think what they want, but the bottom line is that God is the judge of where I end up, not them.

I will ask you this...If you are a new creature in Christ, why do you want to give an image of dark and evil things? Scripture says to abstain from the very appeareance of evil. So, you are not following that commandment by dressing goth.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-23 (King James Version)

21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

** Your attitude displayed in your additional details is why you are on your way to hell. It has nothing to do with your appearance.
You might know the commandments, but you surely don't follow them.
Love, peace and understanding are obviously not part of your lifestyle.
You have the chance to change that and become humble. Foolish pride will blind you to truth every time.

Because most adults stereotype young people. Clothes are a form of expression. Music is a form of expression. Art is a form of expression.
However if you dont fit a "click" with most of the other "cookie cutter" individuals some how someone made themselves " head judge" that different is a bad thing. People are IGNORANT (as in stupid) and close minded and its a shame but it will probably never change.

BUT I SAY STAND UP AND BE DIFFERENT!! BE AN INDIVIDUAL!! BE A LEADER NOT A FOLLOWER!!

God made us all different for a reason :)

every person can ... goth / thog / ghot ... regardless of you call your self. in case you realize you're stored ~ why are you asking this? you're the two stored or no longer stored...you realize greater suitable than every person else the place your priorities are, in case you like something greater suitable than your dedication to maintain your existence sparkling of sinful conduct. Baptist church homes coach God's be conscious o.k.... are you there because of the fact the relatives are nominal baptists, or do you realize Jesus?

You aren't talking about being a goth. You are talking about your choice of clothing. Clothing does not determine your soul's destiny, but I can almost guarantee you that your clothing is the only thing goth about you.

the thing is that many of those people who say those cruel things dont know nothing about goth people just by their appearance they think that goth people dont have souls and dont believe in god, also that they are just plain weird. they have no knowledge of those who are gothic. basically what they do is judge the book by its cover.
