The list goes on and on of what could be wrong, especially being an outdoor cat.You HAVE to take this poor animal to a vet,and if you can't afford to do that you HAVE to take it to the humane society and surrender it,so it can be fixed if possable, or if not, humanely put out of its misery

You need to get the cat to a vet asap...there may be some sort of infection internally that is causing the smell and problem...only a vet can tell you for sure...
One thing that came to mind is could your cat have been bitten by a snake or spider? It could be an abscess that has not come to a head yet so to speak....

I had an outdoor cat once and had the same problem. He had a strong smell of garbage and he wasnt eatting, it got so bad to the point where he would stand up and lose his balance. He was throwing up and lost control of his bowels.....when we took him to the vet it turned out that he had "luekimia" he had a yellow hue to his skin as well. but they had to put him to sleep :(
