He is taking Celebrex for about 10 days, but no relief. He has shooting pain at the back of his right leg, and thigh, especially when he walks. He has this condition for 2 months already.

I've had the same thing. The best thing my Neurologist told me to do is find something that will put my legs(from hip to knee) at a 90 degree angle from my spine. Obviously he can't lay in the floor like i would do and put my legs on the couch, but find something to prop him up in bed. It will take all the pressure off the nerves that are pressed an help blood to flow better to the area. It will probly hurt really bad for the first minute like it does me but it goes away fast and helps very much. There's not a whole lot you can do about herniated disk but this at least gives that sciatic nerve a break.

He needs more than just celebrex....I suggest he go to to a pain clinic. My dad had suffered from chronic back pain for many years and had had several surgeries due to a herniated disc. He was eventually put on Oxycontin for the pain and he was able to function somewhat normally.

Has he tried a steroid pain reliever? In medical doses it does not usually cause the same problems as when it is taken by athletes to increase muscule mass. As long as he doesn't have diabetes, it should work for him.

I, too, have this. I've been going to a chiropractor & have had some excellent results.
