You must be talking about in the bible where it says..."the body is a temple" and sh*it. Well, the bible's words can be interpreted in a thousand different ways, hence all the religious controversy that surrounds us, even though it's the same book and words that everyone seems to disagree on. I'm not ignorant enough to say "I'm right, you are wrong," but the way I interpret that.....how does a tattoo destroy the "temple?" By it's looks? What if the tattoo is of a cross, or something religious? Is it ok then? No, the way I interpret that is the health of your body, things that will actually hurt the body. Smoking, drugs, alcohol.....all that sh*it. Not a picture on the outside that doesn't afffect the body in any way.

No! I have 6 tattoos, and I love them all, and want to get more.
I work in a place where I come in contact with alot of Senior Citizens, and some of them, don't like my tattoos, some think they are the mark of the devil, and some like them. I had one lady that thought that getting your ears pierced was a sin!

it doesn't actually say that tattooing is a sin in the bible

although i dont know the actual words .. it says something along the lines of not marking your body in mourning for the dead ( something like that )

anyway i think they are beautiful and have 3 also xx

ok got the words now
thou shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead

this isnt saying tatoos are a sin

No, because it's your body and as long as the tattoo is not offensive, then there is no problem.

I have actually seen tattoos that are in very, very poor taste (Like a naked woman in bondage) that may indicate deviant behavior that could be a sin.

nope. i think it is dumb if you get one just to be hardcore and have no appreciation for the art of it tho. i plan to have many tattoos when i am older (only 17 atm) but the only religion i know of that actualy says tattoos are a sin is Judaism and that isnt even a direct thing its just that you supposed to be buried in the same state in which you are born and tattoos change that state (but then why the circumcision?) dunno but nope i dont think they are a sin

not a sin but personally don't like them. however, if I was forced to get a tattoo there is only one design I would choose.

what is inportant is that you ask yourself how you feel about it!! P.S. you should read my other answers about all other stuff and meditation, because meditation will tell you from yourself who you are. Here is a copy of one answer that i gave someon.............................................................................................................. SOMETIMES IT IS OURSELVES THAT KEEP US THERE AND IT HAS MUCH TO DO WITH A PERSONS STATE OF MIND / , REMEMBER THAT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS WITHEN YOU!! ASK YOURSELF WHAT THIS MEANS?? I
I have been using deep meditation Cd's that helped to me focus, thy cause a bunch of issues to surface though (so be careful and use at your own risk ), i think it is so that you are faced with it and you can overcome the issue, the instructions for the program say to use the Cd's every day but i think that it is only a good idea to do this for the first six weeks of the program and then to use them at your own pace of maybe two or three times a week at least for me anyway, ALSO DON'T TURN THE VOLUME UP VERY LOUD AT ALL WHEN LISTENING TO THE CD'S (when listening to these Cd's you have to use a portable CD player with headphones) the company is called center-point (click on link)http://www.centerpointe.come

I can find no Catholic teaching against tattoos.

However a point to ponder:

You are a masterpiece work of art, created in the image and likeness of the artist, God.

Would you go up to Leonardo Da Vinci's painting "The Last Supper" and try to "improve" it by adding your own touches here and there?

With love in Christ.
