actually there comes a time in your life where u are too young to build muscle properly, and its just called pre-lifting and what that does basically, it just formats your muscle memory to where the weight u lift with out working out daily is a little higher. But i would think at age 16 you should be pretty close. Certain things stunt your growth, lack of healthy eating habits, working out too hard and starving your body of healing time. Certain medicine will and even certain chemicals in certain foods. But u need to get as much pre-lift as u can so when u get to the full potential stage u can fill it up fast and even go beyond. Height and muscle mass are related but not significantly.

Well, you might end up getting some kind of stimulation that might cause an increase (or a decrease in growth), but for starters, if you want to get taller, avoid caffeine. At least I know that's a growth stunt. My best friend is also a umm, vertically challenged person, so if anyone knows any methods on improving height, she's the one. Sorry I can't be of much help!

It won't effect puberty, but it does effect your height, the more you lift the more the chance that you wont grow taller... a little wont hurt, but a lot can effect you BIG TIME, if you go there just once every 2 months you got nothin to worry about, but if you do it often it wont be good for your growth.

No it does not... can tell you that it does not affect your height whatsoever; however, it may affect your joints & ligaments with the extra stress at any age....but by 16 you are probably fine and grouped into the same category as 18 year olds regarding affect on development & growth

No i am 13 and i have been going to the gym for like a year now and ive just been getting taller and taller. Some people who weight lift get really wide so it looks like theyre a little shorter or they are shrinking.

But if you want to be like arnold schwarzenneger then ya it will not let you grow anymore.

At your age, not at all. You are fine to be lifting weights and working out. You will not have any negative affects from it UNLESS you do not get training and do it incorrectly. Make sure that you get a thorough personal training session before beginning any type of new physical activity.

GOOD LUCK!

No that will not affect your height. Your genes and your diet do affect your height, but working out in a gym only affects your muscles, not how tall you are.

Wish i was 16 again!!. Won't affect your growth but don't tear any tissue (don't get too cocky) and by all means DO NOT try any steroids floating around out there!!! Good Luck

i've heard that. a have friends that are twins, When they were teens, one worked out and the other was kind of a sloth. But now the sloth is like a foot taller then the other one.
Maybe a coincedence, but try not workin out too hard just yet

It won't.

You should be more worried about the caffiene you're putting into your body, because that will stunt your height AND be horrible for your gains in the gym.
