The Scullery is an old fashioned word for what most of us would now call a utility room. It was where all the wet stuff like washing was done by hard working housewives when the world was all in black and white.

the scullery was the equivalent of yr Utility room in the 1900s. It would be next to the kitchen, but very much separate, for the labour intensive laundry and storing large domestic stuff

i think he is talking about hugh scullery... former presenter of the popular tv show 'antiques road show'.
he was much better than that twittering cnut mike aspel but much uglier.. in fact he looked like a bulldog having a s h i t.
