maybe you are thinking of word shera. In Chaldean it is a ceremony for saints.ST JOHN,ST PETER and others.

I guess your talking about godess Sherawali (Sher = Tiger) that means godess who rides on Tiger. She is commonly know as Godess Durga in India. In Northern state's people call her Sherawali. I hope I am correct.
