Because faith takes belief...and nobody has either anymore! It's the work of the devil!

If you are referring to faith in the religious sense, it's because faith denies reason. A few hundred years ago, the majority of the civilized world believed that the world was flat and the center of the universe (made of water). This universe was held away from us by a "firmament" put in place by God which was a thin filament containing the stars.
In the ensuing years, science (aka: reason) discovered that every single aspect of that world view was incorrect.
There is absolutely no evidence at all that anything other than nature is at work. If there is a kind, benevolent all loving God, then was doesn't he answer the prayers of a mother for her dying baby? How can he sit back and allow unspeakable abuses to occur to total innocents, yet perform "miracles" of insubstantial impact (like finding a parking space in a crowded lot when you're late for a critical meeting) for those that choose to believe in Him?
Faith requires the setting aside of reason and thought. As we become a more enlightened, educated community, faith naturally begins to fade.

The world has become less religious progressively since the 1960's I would say. I believe societies have always tended to fall away from God when times are relatively good. God occasionally brings His people back to Himself through the only way people will respond to God---through bad times..
Stay close to the Lord Brother.. because you see the evil in the world indicates you are not "of" the world, but "in" the world--as we should be.
I recommend attending a Catholic Church. God bless you.

Sad to say I really don't think it has only been the last few years. Maybe you are just now noticing or at a time in your life where it means more. But the world will always be full of so many choices and faith (in God I assume you mean) is a choice we all have! I choose to believe, it works for me. But for many, they can not find the faith for whatever reason and hopefully one day they will?!

There are too many generations, that have no idea what my grandparents sacrificed to make sure that people your age can call our sitting leaders names without getting hung in the town square.
And TOM you are so wrong, what people need to do is get involved ,Hiding in your own little world is just the type of selfish attitude that is destroying this country,You run around listening to people that say things that satisfy your desire to be lazy and let everybody else be responsible for everything, instead of accepting the fact that this country, any country needs its citizens to participate in its survival, or it will fall. You read the actual words of most of your powerful liberals, and then go read the speeches of Hitler, Lenin,Pol Pot, and you see very scary similarities,Of course i doubt you will, your too lazy, selfish, and arrogant, I mean, after all so what , it wont happen while your alive,,,,That's where your wrong, it is happening right now, other countries are turning democratic, while we are slipping into socialism.I will be dead before it is complete, but hah!!
You will deserve it.

St Paul foretold all this in 2 Timothy 3 v. 1. "But mark this: there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lover s of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God -- having a form of godliness but denying its power."
Does all that sound familiar? We are in the end times and this is how it is. But thank God that while we see so much faithlessness where we are, elsewhere in the world millions are turning to Christ.

As far as I'm concerned, that's not a bad thing. But I wouldn't agree - it seems to me that the world has gone kinda insane with the religious stuff lately. I think a little faithless would help.

The world has become so faithless the last few years because Satan knows that his time is short. Therefore, he's trying harder then he ever has to deceive people and get them to turn away from the Truth.

1. Children used to be raised attending church with their parents...it was a part of being in a community and a part of daily life. Then parents started sending their children to church...and not going themselves...and more and more of those kids are growing up not having had the example set before them of parental involvement....and they have dropped out of church and don't even send their kids, except maybe to vacation Bible School in the summers.
2. We have taken all references to God out of the government, the schools and the business place.
3. We are allowing the murder of alot of children through abortion.
4. Television is increasingly sexually explicit and violent.
5. We let our children become involved and absorbed in violent video games and we allow them to spend huge blocks of time pretending to kill, maime and destroy in their imaginations.
6. We spend less and less quality time with our children and basically allow them to grow up without parental guidance and discipline.
And then we expect our children to have faith in God, who they cannot see, when they can't even trust their parents, who they can see. Nor can they trust their teachers, their role models or their peers.....Faith is based on trust. If I cannot live in a society that I can trust, I cannot develop faith very easily...it is a struggle because I have to go back as an adult and build the foundation that I should have had built in me as a child.

It only appears that it is in the last few years. It has always been that way. Mostly due to hypocrisy and misinterpretations of scriptures confuse the innocent people. We have to find the truth of all religions and teach that. Not mans interpretation. Go to http://www.essene.org for the Truth on Christ and what the Catholic Church does not want
you to know. for universal truths go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com
