Why do we need to sleep? Why did GOD create us too allow us to sleep?

Question

I cant see the logic of sleeping apart from the need to do so. I wonder why we are designed to sleep? Why did God do that?

Good question! Seeing as how sleep makes us incredibly vulnurable for a large part of our day, we can conclude that either God wants us to be vulnerable to attack and/or degraded awareness during the time we're sleeping or that God didn't actually create us to sleep.

So, if God created us to be more vulnerable for a significant portion of each day, we can conclude that He's not very caring since many people throughout the course of humanity have died in their sleep from violent means. Hmm, not very nice, eh?

However, if God didn't create us to sleep we can conclude that we're 1) not doing his will; 2) somehow grew away from that state of perfection requiring no sleep; or 3) sleep is a part of our evolution that allows us to regenerate cells and tissue.

Personally, I don't believe in an arbitrary, uncaring God. I believe in evolution.

Everybody needs to sleep sometime. Most people need at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep. When you are sleeping you are helping the body recover from its long day. Some people just sleep more then others. Just remember that everybody is different.

Everything in this world is a perverted reflection of the Absolute world. In the spiritual world there is sleep but it is creative sleep and we do not sleep for a long time.(Its spiritual there) It is said that the saints sleep for only a few hours. Sleep is in the mode of ignorance so the more ignorance one is in the more they need to sleep. silly, thats when He sucks everything from the previous day out of our brains and plants little ideas about tomorrows. Didn't know you were under surveilance huh. hahaha omg...good question. Especially if we're gonna die and it's chunkin' off our party time but I guess sooo that everyone won't be acting crazy and going out at anytime of the day and so that everyone will have a chance to go places. Pluse every place would be packed cuz theirs no bedtime. Weird? I really don't get it. What I wanna know is why are thier so many damn people in the world. How are all of them gonna fit in heaven or hell. But we'll never know why god does certain things. Maybe cuz we need to have sex or something. I dunno...lol

GOD? hmmm, we sleep because our mind need to rest like our body's, our brain activity is like a computer, it can take in huge amounts of information but needs time to process this, that's partly why we dream, its our mind setting out what it dose and doesn't understand, sorting data. a bit like dragging a HDD, its not god, its naturals amazing way of evolution.

God didn't we evolved with a need for sleep. All mamals sleep in some way or other. I assume dinosaurs did as well because their desendants the birds sleep.
