Carry it onboard the plane with you. Otherwise, it could get damaged, lost or stollen.

I wouldn't pack it in a suitcase. I would get a laptop carrying bag and use it as your carry-on.

Get one of those bags that you can place a laptop in. You will have to take it out of the bag when you go to security, but it will be much better than getting your laptop stolen or damaged if you check it in.

I do not believe you should pack a laptop - you should take it on plane as carryon in a laptop case

I always carry mine in an over-the-shoulder computer bag. Do NOT check it. That's just asking for it to be stolen or broken.

Bring it with you. When I went to Arizona in January 05, I saw some people have their laptops with them.
