Stewart's Rootbeer in a chilled mug right from the Stewart's rootbeer stand.
Health food brands might be good for you. They are very unusual, may not taste like rootbeer as you know it, they use roots!
I have found an outrageous one from 5 acres flea market, made by some farmers. Try farm stands. It can also be drank warm. That is supposed to be quite good, room temp.

I like Stewart's. commonsense76 must really like root beer, nice list! I'll have to give IBC another try seeing it is made by the same company Stewart's is made by. I recently tried Abita for the first time, didn't care for it - not enough bite, though the after taste was nice and lingered on the tongue.

I like IBC root beer. And if you live near a fairly large city, you can get the ingredients to make your own root beer. You need a good balance of flavors for a successful root beer. And a friend suggested treating it like a full-bodied beer -- about 40 to 50 degrees when you drink it, and don't smother it with ice.
I LOVE root beer!

Sprecher. Its the best!
They make it up here in Wisconsin, so I don't know where it is all available. If you love rootbeer, you should make an effort to get some.
The cream soda from them is really good too...
