Up until very recently, I was the head cook for an upscale facility that did hospital, cafeteria and restaurant cooking based on medical needs and mood of the individual resident. It was a very rewarding job and I loved taking the time to visit with our residents. When I'm done with my own medical treatments, I plan on returning, too!

Halloween.Only,it wasn't a nursing home, but an assisted living place.I visited a friend, but there are always other people stopping to see the baby,so we end up visiting with at least 3 or 4 people at once.I don't think many of them get out, much, either. If at all.I would have gone to the nursing home if it had been a better night.I plan to drag someone out with me for caroling.I will not accept "But I can't sing" as a reason not to go.I can't sing, either.Like the residents care! I used to go a few times a week and talk to and hold hands with the ones that couldn't really communicate. They need that. Now I feel bad.I'll have to get my butt out there more often.
