liquids develop bacteria so a year is considered the safe limit.
With dry pills and powders that were stored out of sunlight, they are safe and effective for 10 years or more!

Don't take an old prescription drug! It's not a good idea because it's inactive after its expiration date.

If it were about 1 month old, i'd say, go ahead.

But 8 years old? No. Wait until monday. In the mean time, if you have a urinary tract infection, drink lots of cranberry juice, and lots of water to relieve it.

If you do have a urinary tract infection, I know it hurts, but you'll not get anything out of an old prescription, as it'll be tantamount to taking a placebo pill.

Throw the meds away, call your doc immediately on Mon morning. If you can't wait, then go to a medical walk-in and they'll give you a prescription for this.

It should say on the bottle. Usually a year or two. Eight years sounds a little long, probably wouldn't be very effective.

8 years is too old , the expiration date is on the bottle, throw any old ones out as they will not have the same effect on you

Oh, please do not try taking them!. Some medications increase in strength with age, others breakdown- either way it is really unsafe to take that medication. Go to the ER-they're always open.
