I would like to take CNA classes that will accept grants/financial aid ---not requiring me to have to borrow any money . I don't want to take out any loans. If anyone knows of any schools where I may qualify for "free"or "low cost" classses in the Detroit, MI area please let me know. I was told the Red Cross offered these types of classes but after contacting them I was told the program was dis-continued except for cash paying students. I don't have any of cash so that knocks me out. Thank you very much for your answers and your time.

I know that several community colleges have those classes, including Wayne County CC and Washtenaw Community College.

You need to talk with a local nursing home and see what arragements that they have to train their people, and use the ideas that they give you. Heck, you might end up making come contacts in that home which would give you a job later!

In addition, did you know that you get a full ride if you agree to work in a nursing facility that has mostly mediciad / medicare patients?
