I agree,I give to lots of different charities, sometimes it seems to be endless and there are some I would favour over others,I would not like my money to be taken at source from my wages although I do have a couple of charitable monthly direct debits.Unless there is a tax advantage to the charity (where by they can claim the extra that you would have paid in income tax) I would certainly prefer to give it myself and perhaps be able to spread my contributions to different causes like natural disasters as we all have some sort of budget to try and keep to !

If you dont want to do it you dont have to - its voluntary. Be very careful what charities you donate to - so many take huge cuts for admin and stuff and very little of the cash actually reaches those who need it. Many charities are nothing but a legalised scam for the bosses to get rich at the cost of others. Also dont forget the saying CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME - therefore make sure you're okay before giving your hard earned cash away x

its not charity if you're forced to give money. The money shouldn't come straight out of your wages. Although giving to charity is good and all, you should choose the charity you give to carefully as some, like oxfam, take most of the money given as profit to the company instead of giving it to the people that they said they would give it to.

Giving to charity stinks, a lot of people make an awful lot of money in salaries out of it, only 2p in the pound gets to the needy.
Tell the collector you only give to charities that benefit you.

That is entirely up to you. They should not take money out of your check though, giving to charity should be your decision, not management

Deduction charitable donations direct from wages is nothing new, its been happening for around 20 years. Its voluntarty, no one can be forced to donate otherwise it wouldnt be charity! You donate what you can afford, sometimes more, sometimes less, the decision is yours.

Give what you feel comfortable with and what you can afford to give. That is all anyone can expect from you.
